Academy for Health Development seeks to improve health systems and health development through generating new knowledge, building capacity for research and action, and translating knowledge into effective policies and programmes.

Sixteen mid-level managers across APIN offices in Nigeria were trained on “Programme┬áManagement and Leadership”. The general objective of the training was to equip the mid-level health care professionals with knowledge and skills necessary for programme management and leadership. The learning objectives for the workshop were that the participants should be able to demonstrate knowledge of core leadership and programme management issues; recognise greater opportunities for their managerial and leadership impact; understand and apply the leading and managing practices for improved work outcomes and better health outcomes and apply Emotional Intelligence and other key competencies in their daily work.
