Academy for Health Development (AHEAD), Ile-Ife, Nigeria with the support of The Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health at Scale (PAS) presents the 1st Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin National Reproductive Health Forum, with the theme “Meeting Family Planning 2020 Goal: Whither Nigeria?” The Forum #PBOLF2019 is designed as an annual platform for advocacy and advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), with a strong focus on family planning and adolescent health – the agenda that Prof. Osotimehin passionately championed during his lifetime. It will hinge on the family planning initiatives supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Nigeria, giving their significance and impact.
The meeting will gather stakeholders in the fields of SRHR, and social and health development; featuring a panel discussion on “Strengthening coordination and collaboration in support of Nigeria’s family planning agenda: Is sector-wide approach to donor assistance a possible target?” There will also be Experience-sharing by selected projects/initiatives, so as to reflect on Nigeria’s achievements in the family planning agenda, and ultimately, to provide critical lessons and insights for advancing specific SRHR issues.
Prof Oladosu Ojengbede- the current Director of the Centre for Population and Reproductive Health, College of Medicine, Ibadan, Nigeria will chair the event, while Prof Emmanuel Otolorin – an accomplished Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over 35 years of clinical experience, teaching and reproductive health programming will be the guest lecturer.
The Forum will hold by 9am on the 19th of July, 2019, at the Otunba Subomi Balogun Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
